What you should know about Barbs Place
Barb is a qualified chef and has traveled extensively to Australia, England, Europe and USA. After spending over 20 years working in hotels and kitchens she returned to NZ and has run a successful catering business specializing in smaller functions and dinner parties. Geoff has been a business person and has owned and managed a number of enterprises over his lifetime. With our friendly relaxed personalities and the fabulous food you too will enjoy your stay. Great welcome, Geoff did a marvellous job of cooking our dinner, he can cook for me anytime
Spending time with you as guests is what we enjoy the most and the shearing of knowledge and experiences is something that is enjoyed very much.
Includes 2 nights accommodation, 2 night meals, local wine, 2 breakfasts, transport to and from your lunch destination plus vineyard winery tour. Blacks winery also have a attractive coffee lunch menu and the restaurant is situated at an lofty slick and offers a great view over the vineyard and surrounding valley. Waipara Springs cafe is also one of our established lunch destinations and offers a tasty menu. Home cooked dinner, cooked or continental breakfast and a huge nights sleep NZ 220. Their house is earlier style construction with lots of rimus wood paneling and polished floors.
Barb is a competent chef and Goff has been very healthy trained in the kitchen by Barb so providing you with a tasty kiwi styled night meal is no effort. The rooms at Barbs Store are of abundant former style proportions with unused en suites and facilities. There are a number of local winery cafes originate for lunches and coffees as healthy as tastings. When you stay here at Barbs Deposit you live correct in the house with us and you are welcome to use all the facilities we offer.
Of course you can spend time alone resting and relaxing if that is your choice. Barbs Deposit is insignificant and personal and mostly we only book 1 room at a time, so if you want to get to know a real Kiwi couple then come spend so time with us. Goff grows most of the vegetables and the eggs come from our own hens so when we say 'fresh' we malicious it! Of course we are surrounded by wineries and we will treat you to a glass of local Waipara Valley wines to complete the experience. Wine tours that receive you to the smaller family wineries and vineyards, confront the people, taste and buy their amazing wines, made with love and spontaneous ingrediance. Barb has been a passionate foodie all her life! This has given her great experience in the hospitality field, undeniable people skills and an amazing knowledge of culinary styles and arts.
We are situated among st some marvelous wineries that are unfold daily for lunches and tastings and we are only a short drive to the thermal pools at hammer or whale watch at Kaikoura. The cooking class starts around 5pm and continues throughout the evening then followed by the 3 course dinner you have helped prepare
